Dr. Lora Smith
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Lora Smith, DPT joined Functional Health and Wellness in October 2014 and specializes in evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Smith received her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas in 2002, graduating with High Honors. She then continued her education at Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine, earning her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2005.
Dr. Smith has also continued her education with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, specializing in treatment of pelvic floor disorders. She has worked with many influential physicians and physical therapists who are working to change the way we diagnose and treat the pelvic floor, including the physicians at The University of Oklahoma Physicians Female Pelvic and Bladder Health Clinic. Dr. Smith works with patients who suffer from pelvic pain, dyspareunia (painful intercourse), bladder and bowel disorders, urinary frequency, urinary incontinence, pregnancy and post partum pain, abdominal diastasis, pudendal neuralgia, post-operative pain (including Mesh complications/removal), as well as orthopedic injuries and pain.
Dr. Smith lives in the Oak Park area with her husband Bryan, an orthopedic resident physician at Loyola University, and their son Miles. She enjoys athletics and is an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, as a former Razorback Pom Squad member during her college days. Dr. Smith continues to enjoy dancing as well as running, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
